Embracing Sustainability

Sustainability at Hi Pro, Inc.:

At the heart of our unwavering dedication to sustainability, we are actively leading the charge towards a greener future. Our ongoing efforts encompass a comprehensive transition of our entire fleet to meet and exceed the latest federal emissions standards. Across our diverse fleet, you'll find eco-friendly solutions in action. For instance, we've harnessed the power of compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles, making strides towards cleaner transportation in the vibrant city of Tucson, Arizona. Meanwhile, our commitment to minimizing environmental impact shines through with a fleet of nearly zero-emission propane trucks gracing the streets of Denver, Colorado. Remarkably, a staggering 44% of our fleet in Arizona now comprises CNG vehicles, illustrating our resolute commitment to providing eco-conscious transportation alternatives.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony in Colorado:

Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) confirmed that Hi Pro, Inc. had proudly become the first U.S. Postal Service contractor in Colorado to integrate propane Autogas into its fleet. This exciting transition was commemorated at a ribbon-cutting ceremony held in Commerce City, Colorado, in 2022.

At the ceremony, Hi Pro, Inc.’s CEO, Joshua Stoneback, unveiled our new fleet of Class 6 ultra-low nitrogen oxide (NOx) box trucks, along with the innovative propane Autogas infrastructure designed to make a tangible difference in reducing emissions throughout the Denver metro area.

What sets Hi Pro, Inc. apart is our commitment to both environmental and financial sustainability. The Propane Education & Research Council emphasizes that our propane-powered trucks offer a lifetime low-carbon footprint that rivals that of electric vehicles. However, the true distinction lies in the cost-efficiency, with our propane Autogas vehicles substantially outperforming electric alternatives in terms of cost savings. In fact, each of our box trucks is projected to produce a remarkable 281 metric tons less of CO2 emissions annually compared to an electric vehicle charging and operating via Colorado's electric grid.

Mr. Stoneback shared his enthusiasm for this transformation, saying, "With these propane Autogas trucks, Hi Pro Inc. will be environmentally sustainable and financially sustainable. We've all felt the pain of filling up at the pump with gasoline or diesel. With propane, I won't feel that anymore. The cost of propane autogas is a fraction of what I would be paying for diesel. And to top it off, the fleet is reducing emissions at the same time. It's a win-win for everyone."

This monumental shift in our vehicle fleet and the supporting infrastructure, which has been generously provided by AmeriGas, is part of a $1 million research pilot project known as "Delivering Clean Air in Denver: Propane Trucks and Infrastructure in Mail Delivery Application.” This project is made possible through funding from the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy, in collaboration with the efforts of Drive Clean Colorado.

Our new ultra-low NOx propane vehicles, developed by Roush CleanTech, play a crucial role in reducing NOx emissions by an impressive 96 percent compared to traditional diesel-powered vehicles, as highlighted by PERC. Additionally, our engines are certified to the optional ultra-low NOx CARB .02 standard, operating 90 percent cleaner than the EPA's strictest heavy-duty standards.

At Hi Pro, Inc., we're not only transporting mail; we're delivering a cleaner, more sustainable future for our environment and our customers. Join us on this exciting journey towards a greener tomorrow.
